Charles "Eddie" Edward Wiggins

It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Charles Edward (Eddie) Wiggins, 79, of Lexington S.C. at Lexington Hospice House surrounded by his family. He was born July 3rd, 1946 in Columbia S.C. to the late Annie Elizabeth Strickland Wiggins and Lawrence D. Wiggins

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Janet Snelgrove Wiggins; his 3 sons, Ronald Edward Wiggins, Charles Brandon Wiggins, and Corey Daniel Wiggins; his brother, L. Dan Wiggins, Jr.; sister-in-law, Joyce Wiggins; several nephews and a niece.

He was predeceased by his brother, Leonard Earl Wiggins; and a niece, Rhonda Wiggins.

Eddie worked for many years at Columbia Engineering of Lexington S.C. and Seaco Asphalt Emulsions in Columbia, S.C. He loved repairing cars and engines of all kinds and drag racing his 57 Chevrolet in his early years. He loved going to NASCAR and watching them on TV and spending time with his family. His handshake was honest, his word dependable, and he was always willing to help others.

A Celebration of Life will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 29th 2026 at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. The family will receive friends following service. Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church 1130 St. Peters Road, Lexington, SC 29072.

A very special thanks to Lexington Medical Center, Lexington Extended Care, Lexington Regional Rehab, and Lexington Hospice House for all the kindness, empathy, and support shown to Eddie and family. You will be always remembered by our family.
