Charles R. Gantt

Gilbert- Charles Rudolph Gantt, 91, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Born in Wagener, he was the son of the late Carl Rudolph and Frances Williamson Gantt.

A man of strong work ethic, he was the owner of Charles Gantt Trucking. In his later years, Charles could be found by the water; he was an avid fisherman and found great peace in the outdoors. Above all, Charles was the cornerstone of a large and vibrant family.

He is survived by his children, Glenn (Deborah), Mike (Kathleen), Randy (Lisa), Barry (Robin), and Melinda (Mike) See; as well as 10 beloved grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Gloria Ryan; numerous nieces and nephews; caregiver, Janice Gantt; and his faithful companion and beloved dog, Cash.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Sherri Jo Gantt; son, Carl Gantt; sister, JoEtta Belk; brother, Edward Gantt. 

Funeral service will be conducted 3pm Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel with the Rev Jud Hook officiating. Burial will follow at Lexington Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2pm to 3pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
