Charles M. Gunter

Funeral services for Charles Marion Gunter, 75, will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, at Oak Grove Baptist Church of Gilbert, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, 533 Hayride Rd., Gilbert, SC 29054. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Gunter passed away Friday, May 28, 2021. Born in Lexington County, he was a son of the late Lewis E. and Rosa Lee Burkett Gunter. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, and served in the U.S. Army before retiring as a truck driver from Old Dominion Truck Lines.

Surviving are a his wife, Melba Sampson Gunter; son, Charles Ross “Chuck” Gunter (Lynn); daughter Tammy Lynn Chapman; grandchildren Chandler Gunter, Haley Gunter (Bobby Price), Montana Gunter; great-grandchildren; Liam Gunter, Callie Gunter, Mikaylee Gillman, Ariella Price; brothers Bobby Gunter, Donnie Gunter, Lynwood Gunter, and a sister Margaret Mims.

 He was predeceased by 7 of his siblings
