Charles Henry Jeffcoat, Jr.

Charles Henry Jeffcoat Jr., a life-long resident of Lexington, SC died unexpectedly on July 21, 2020 at the age of 87.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Miriam Jeffcoat. His children, Charles Wayne Jeffcoat Sr. (Shirley) , Debra Fowler (Cheslie), and Tony Jeffcoat (Valerie); his grandchildren, Charles Wayne Jeffcoat Jr. (Corey), Wendy Jeffcoat, Chris Jeffcoat (Ashley), Kimberly Lewis (Matt); great-grandchildren, Olivia Jeffcoat, Gage Smith, Jeremiah Lewis, and Gabriel Lewis. Charles is also survived by his brothers Melton Jeffcoat (Charlotte) and John Jeffcoat (Denise); loving sister-in-law Fran Lumbard (Gar) and multiple extended family members. Charles is predeceased by his mother Thelma Knox Jeffcoat Higgins; his father Charles H. Jeffcoat Sr.; his brother Robert Jeffcoat; and grandson Jason Fowler.

Charles was a Marine veteran that fought in the Korean War. He was a retired firefighter with the Columbia Fire Department. He was a charter member of Oakwood Baptist Church where he operated the sound system for numerous years. Above all he loved his family and God.

His funeral will be held at Woodridge Memorial Park and Funeral Home Friday, July 24, 2020 at 3PM. It will be held at the mausoleum chapel and officiated by Pastor Steve Eargle.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that memorials be sent to Oakwood Baptist Church building fund.
