Services for Charles “Sonny” Edward Dunbar, 78, will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, at Florence Baptist Church. Mr. Dunbar passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018. Born in Lexington County, he was a son of the late LC and Lila Dunbar. He was a former and very proud paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne and successful engineer and businessman. Surviving are his loving wife Vera Wheeler Dunbar; son, Dr. J. Keith Dunbar and his wife Michelle; daughter Lisa Ann Dunbar Ricard; grandchildren Cameron Edward Clark, Benjamin William Dunbar, Connor Charles Dunbar, and Abby Caroline Ricard; brother, Robert “Bobby” C. Dunbar, his wife Carolyn, and his children Travis Dunbar and Traci Holcomb; and many other family and friends who will miss his effusive personality and great kindness and generosity dearly. Mr. Dunbar was predeceased by his daughter Wendi Lorraine Dunbar. His family would like to extend a special thank you to Ricky and Roxanne Kneece for their kindness. Memorials may be made in his name to the Salvation Army or Florence Baptist Church.
