Catherine J. Gable

Catherine J. Gable, a cherished member of the Lexington community, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025. Born on October 24, 1935, in Lexington, SC, Catherine was a woman of great strength and resilience. She was a devoted mother, loving sister, and a faithful member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Catherine dedicated many years as an operator at Michelin, and her hard work was greatly admired.

Catherine is survived by her son, Carlton Amick; five grandchildren, Tessa Cade, Collin Amick, Cami Amick, Jeremy Amick and Kaylee Reynolds; eight great grandchildren, Christopher Cade, Brianna Cade, Alexis Powers, Savannah Amick, Wyatt Amick, Dawson Amick, Kirkley Reynolds, and Autumn Reynolds;  one great great grandchild, Audriana Baston; her brothers, Howard McCartha and Frank McCartha Jr.; and her sisters, Edith Leaphart and Helen Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Gladys McCartha; husband, Wayne Gable; son, Donny Amick; brother,  Brice McCartha; sisters, Margaret Miller and Carolyn Whittle.

Services will be held 2:00 pm,  Sunday, June 22, 2025,  at St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family. All are welcome to pay their respects and celebrate Catherine's life. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.
