Catherine Marie Hutchinson

Catherine Marie Hutchinson (Smith) passed to her heavenly father on April 10, 2026. She was born in Honolulu, HI on June 28, 1965. She was a graduate of USC and Orangeburg Technical College. She was a certified radiology technician and spent almost all of her adult life in the medical field helping people . She had suffered from severe heart problems in the final year of her life and was unable to work full-time. However, at the time of her death she was studying to retain her certification.

Catherine graduated from USC with honors and a Bachelor of Science and Assoc. of Science. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Society as well as The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Cathy was predeceased by two brothers, Tommy and Scott and her husband Randy Smith. She is survived by her father, “Butch” Hutchinson, her mother, Mary Whitecotton, her stepfather Wally Whitecotton, her nephew Thomas Hutchinson and her two dogs Inkee and Gizmo.

Services are under the direction of Barr-Price Funeral Homes (Lexington). We encourage friends and family to contribute to her memorial page by sharing memories, stories and photos which will serve as a comforting reminder of Catherine’s meaningful life. We are also asking that any memorials be sent to the American Heart Association.
