Carroll M. Fulmer

Gilbert- Carroll Mendal Fulmer passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.  He was 83 years old.  Carroll was a member of the United States Air Force.  He worked for CSX Transportation for 25 years before retiring in 2001.  He loved to spend time in nature and enjoyed gardening – he grew the best tomatoes around.

Carroll is predeceased by his parents Wilbur and Toye Fulmer, sister Pauline Addy and two brothers, Ronald and Lonnie Fulmer.  He is survived by his wife of 51 years Lynn Hite Fulmer, son Gregg C. Fulmer (Patti) of Chapin, and daughters Kelly L. Sawyer of Lexington, Tara F. Johnson (Tim) of North Augusta, and Darla R. Fulmer of Lexington.  He is the proud Papa of seven grandchildren – Nicholas, Faith, Mallorie, Brennan, Anna Grace, Malakai and Jamel, and one great granddaughter, Kourtlynn. 

A Memorial Service will be held at Cedar Grove Lutheran Church, Leesville, SC on Sunday,  June 6 at 3:00pm.  Friends may visit the family in the church fellowship hall after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Carroll’s memory to either Cedar Grove Lutheran Church (1220 Cedar Grove Road, Leesville, SC 29070) or the American Cancer Society (200 Center Point Circle #100, Columbia, SC 29210).
