Obituary
Memorial service for Carrie Lee Tolen, 67, will be conducted 3:00 PM Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel with the Rev. Jerome Coleman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Tolen passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023. Born in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late Washington Price and Rosa Bell Jones Tolen. She was a member of Wesley Chapel CME Church and was a seasonal worker.
Surviving are her brother, Dave Tolen; sisters, Lillie Tolen, Mabel Tolen Holston, and Annette Brown and Frances Coleman.
She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd Burgess; brothers, Lee Tolen, Robert Tolen, Price Tolen, and James Tolen; sisters, Ina Tolen Simpkins, Juanita Tolen, and Mary Magdalene Tolen.
