Carol Faye Graham Amick, 80, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025. A sweet southern woman, she had fond memories of growing up with her brother Claude, with whom she remained close until her passing, and enjoyed telling stories of her youth. She met the love of her life, Tom Amick, when her family contracted with V.H. Amick to have a backyard swimming pool installed. They shared a happy life together, living in both Elmwood Park and Irmo. She was overjoyed when she became a grandmother, often hosting play days and sleepovers for her grandson, Pierce. Carol was a fabulous cook, whose recipes often started with “you melt a stick of butter.” She would invite you to “Get ‘ya some more Sugah” no matter how much you had eaten. She was a faithful Gamecocks fan enthusiastically cheering for them no matter the sport and loved country music. A lover of all animals, especially her beagles, cats, and all of her “grand pets” she created a home that was loving and welcoming. Though she started working at Southern Bell in the 1960s, she left her career behind to become a fulltime wife and mother, a job in which she took great pride.
Carol is survived by her husband of 58 years, Thomas E. Amick Sr.; daughter, Amanda Faye Amick Reinhard (Christopher Reinhard); and son, Thomas E. Amick, Jr. (Amy R. Beattie-Amick); grandsons, Pierce C. Reinhard and Wm. Nicholas Beattie (Magan Beattie); great-grandchildren, Alexa, Benji, Lucy and Elijah; and her brother, Claude M. Graham III (Patricia Graham); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude M. Graham, Jr. and Jessie Seel Graham and a grandson, Thomas Declan Amick. There are no plans for a public service at this time.
