Carol Lucas Creech

West Columbia - Carol Lucas Creech, 70, passed away January 25, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Dunn’s Chapel Church in South Congaree with Pastor Tom Atten officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Please follow the appropriate COVID guidelines to safeguard your health. Memorials may be sent to Dunn’s Chapel Church Cemetery Fund, 281 Chapel Road, West Columbia, SC 29172. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.

Carol was born in Hilda, SC, on January 21, 1952, the daughter of the late A.T. Lucas and Mary Lucas. She graduated from Barnwell High School in 1970. 

Carol was dedicated to her family and church. She volunteered at Congaree Elementary School and Fulmer Middle School where her children attended. She also volunteered at Dunn’s Chapel Church with their AWANA program for many years. Carol served as a member of the United Transportation Union (UTU) Ladies Auxiliary in Columbia, SC. She was not only the best wife and mother, but the very best grandmother who loved to spoil her grandchildren every opportunity she had. 

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, William Glen Creech; her son, Jody Glen Creech (Page) of Charlotte, NC; her daughter, Staci Creech Klotz (Daniel) of West Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Chandler Klotz, Kerry Creech, Logan Klotz, and Candace Creech; brothers, Charles Lucas and Tee Lucas (Jan); and sisters, Gwen Jeffcoat and Marcia Lucas. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Don Lucas and Tommy Lucas.
