Carl Edward Lybrand, 91, of Gilbert, passed away at home on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. Born February 3, 1935, he was the son of the late Ernest and Ethel Price Lybrand.
Carl is survived by his daughters, Deborah L. Shumpert (Carroll) and Carla Gable (Scott); daughter-in-law, Darlene Lybrand; grandchildren, Tonya Gossett (Jason - deceased), Tami Hardwick (Todd), Brett Taylor, and Ian Lybrand (Hannah McRae); great-grandchildren, Hunter Gossett (Grace), Halie Gossett, Gavin Hardwick, Caleb Hardwick, Kyle Lybrand, Lillie Lybrand, Ellie Lybrand and Ollie Lybrand; and sister, Rebecca Wetzel.
He was predeceased by his wife, Doris Lybrand; sons, Hugh Lybrand and Kyle Lybrand; sister, Merlin Fallaw; and brothers, Moran Lybrand and Bill Lybrand.
Carl was a member of Beulah Methodist Church. He retired from R.C. Motor Lines and Pond Branch Telephone Company. He enjoyed going to lunch with the retirees from the telephone company.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm (Noon) Friday, May 22, 2026, at Beulah Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Laura Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made Beulah Methodist Church, 161 Beulah Church Road, Gilbert, SC. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.
