Carl Allen Chesney Obituary

Carl Allen Chesney, a true American hero, devoted family man, and cherished friend to many, passed away on May 26, 2025.

Born on July 8, 1965 to Janice Cash and John Chesney, Carl lived a life marked by honor, service, and compassion. A Marine and Army National Guard veteran with 28 years of dedicated service, he was also a police officer with Wellford PD and retired from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, where he held SC State Constable credentials and served as police officer, training instructor and armorer. Carl gave the best of himself to his country and community.

Known for his integrity and cool confidence—often accompanied by his unforgettable Camaro—Carl earned the respect of everyone he served beside. He was a man who lived to teach, lead, and inspire.

Carl was more than his titles. He was a passionate soul who loved motorcycles, Dungeons and Dragons, and role-playing games. He was the beloved “Thanksmas” host and chef, where his laughter and cooking warmed every heart and home.

He was an amazing father and a constant role model—loving unconditionally and teaching tirelessly. Whether in uniform or around a game table, Carl shaped lives with quiet strength and boundless generosity.

Carl was the beloved husband of Kimberly Chesney and a devoted father to Cody Chesney, Amber King (Kevin) and Devon Jones (Holliann). He was a proud grandfather to Jonathon Glaub, Grace King, Shelby King, Daxton Jones and expected baby Jones, as well as a loving uncle to Mackenzie Hammett. Carl was also a cherished brother to Wayne Hammett (Melissa), Scott Chesney and Kevin Chesney.

Carl lived each day with purpose, giving freely of his time and heart. His strength, humor, guidance and unconditional love will remain with us always. His memory is a blessing, and his legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched.

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" - John 15:13

You will be missed, honored and remembered always, Carl.
