Bruce Spinner

Bruce Spinner, 82, of Gaston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in New York City, Bruce spent the majority of his life in South Carolina, where he built a home and life rooted in hard work, love, and devotion to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Lauri; his children, Jeannie (Joe) Doyle, Tyler (Beth) Spinner, and Heather (Lawrence) Hershon; as well as nine grandchildren who brought him immense joy. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Ann Spinner.

Early in his life, Bruce worked in construction before building a long and steady career in information technology. He retired from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), where he was known for his dependability and commitment to the job.

Outside of work, he found joy in simple, meaningful things—working around his home, tending his garden and caring for his beloved dogs. He had a gift for building and fixing things, and his hands were rarely idle. He approached life with kindness, humility, and a steady warmth that made everyone feel welcome.

More than anything, Bruce was a devoted husband. His love for Lauri was the foundation of everything he built. Their 62 years together were filled with loyalty, laughter, and the kind of quiet companionship that comes from a lifetime of shared memories.

He was a dedicated husband, a proud and supportive father, and grandfather whose legacy will live on in the values he instilled and the memories he helped create.

A private family graveside service will be held Sunday, April 27, 2025; friends and family are invited to gather at the Doyle home at 4:00 pm.
