Brittany Virginia Barger, 40 of Lexington, passed unexpectedly on May 21, 2025.
Brittany was born on January 24, 1985 to Robert and Cathy Barger.
Words will never fully describe the radiance Brittany brought to not only to her family, but to all those around her. She wore a smile that instantly lit up a room. Her kindness, humor and generosity touched those she knew, as well as those she was destined to meet. Her spirit lives on in the twinkle of our eyes, and the beat of our hearts. Though tears fall from our eyes, they will pass a smile on their journey downwards, because to think of Brittany is to feel love.
We are now entering Brittany’s favorite season…summer. We often referred to her as our mermaid. She found happiness on the lakes, beaches, rivers or pools. When she was not finding fun on the water, Brittany fully loved her four-legged best friend, and constant companion, “Buddy”. We know his heart is longing for his mom who knew all the right spots to scratch, and the best way to love.
Aside from her passions, Brittany earned her Associates and Bachelor’s degree in business from the University of South Carolina. She was a licensed paralegal and a real estate professional.
Proud does not even begin to express how Brittany’s family feels about her accomplishments.
Brittany is survived by her loving parents, Robert and Cathy; aunt's and uncle, Paul (Debbie) Gordick, Sharon (David) Futral, Anne (Gary) Miklos, Wendy Sabo, and Debbie Cook; cousins, Dustin (Jenny) Walters, Ryan Futral, Chris (Rina) Futral, and Nicholas (Aimee) Eaddy, Jeremy Cook; nieces and nephew, Kaylin Futral, Alyssa Eaddy, Lilia Futral and Parker Walters.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Ben Barger; grandparents, Charles (Chuck) and Bernadette Gordick, Robert and Virginia Barge; and uncles, Tim and Ronnie Cook.
A celebration of Brittany’s beautiful life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 31st at Cornerstone Christian Center, 2153 Old State Road, Swansea, SC 29160.
Our hearts are unbelievably saddened by the passing of our exceptional daughter. Please spread her message of love and laughter and be good to one another.
