Brice W. McCartha

Lexington, S.C.-Brice W. McCartha, 74, was called home by our Lord June 21, 2021. He was born April 23, 1947, the youngest son of L.F. McCartha, Sr. and Gladys Keisler McCartha. He is survived by brothers, L.F. McCartha, Jr. (Betty Jo), Howard McCartha (Ann); sisters, Catherine Gable, Carolyn Whittle, Edith Leaphart, Helen Smith (Larry); and a “bushel and a peck” of nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by both parents; sister, Margaret Miller; and brothers-in-law, Grover Miller, Wayne Gable, Melvin Whittle, and Wyman Leaphart, Sr.

Brice farmed with his father whom he considered his best friend. He was a life long member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church.

A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 1273 Calks Ferry Road, Lexington, SC, 29072. Graveside services will be held following the service at St. Matthews Lutheran Church Cemetery. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.

Brice’s siblings would like to give a very special thank you to Sandra Page for the guardianship and extra care given over the past 3½ years. They would also like to thank the staff at Pruitt Health of Aiken, and Pruitt Hospice. Brice made many friends and was known as the music man.
