Brenda Zoe Poplin

Brenda Zoe (Gossett) Poplin of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on July 18, 2025.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Henry Poplin (Hank); her granddaughters (raised as daughters), Aubrey Warner (Quinton) and Callie Poplin; her brother, Asa R. Gossett, Jr. (Susan); and her two sons, Curtis Poplin and Shaun Poplin. She was predeceased by her father, Asa R. Gossett; her mother, Danola Greer Gossett; her sister, Linda Messick; and brothers, Dennis Gossett, Owen Gossett, Keith Gossett, and Kenneth Gossett.

Brenda was a such an amazing woman, family oriented, caring, and unconditionally loving. Brenda loved traveling, especially with her husband and mother, playing cards, shopping, cooking, talking, and especially being with her family. Brenda was a Special Needs school bus driver for 25 years. Her job was more than just a job; she built a bond with the children under her care. She wasn’t loved by just family, she was loved by everyone she met. Her smile and laugh were infectious. Brenda was able to give the gift of life by way of organ donation. Still in death she gives unconditionally to others.

Visitation will be held at Saint James Lutheran Church (1358 South Lake Drive, Lexington, SC) on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
