Brenda Williams Brisson Campbell, of Columbia, South Carolina, was born on September 12, 1937, and passed peacefully into eternal rest on January 5, 2026. Born and raised in Fairmont, North Carolina, Brenda carried with her a lifelong grace and kindness that touched everyone who knew her.
Brenda devoted her life to caring for others, enjoying two distinguished careers as a Registered Nurse and a Realtor. She was a proud graduate of the McLeod School of Nursing and served in numerous nursing roles throughout her career with compassion and dedication. During the 1970s, while working in real estate, she achieved notable success and was honored as a member of the Million Dollar Club.
From an early age, Brenda’s warmth and poise were evident. During her senior year of high school, she was recognized by her peers with the superlatives “Sweetest Girl” and “Most Sophisticated,” titles she embodied throughout her life. She was a faithful and longtime member of St. Andrews Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina.
Brenda was predeceased by her mother, Dorthy Mills; her first husband, Elvin Brisson; her stepfather, John Mills; and her half-sister, Carol Hudnell.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her husband, Roland Campbell, Jr.; her children, Robin Porter (Charles), Heidi Bygate (Craig), and Daniel Brisson, all of Lexington, South Carolina; her brother, Franklin Williams; her sister, Pattie Guyton; her grandchildren, Daniel Porter, Brittany Lawson (Jeremy), Dalton Bygate (Isabella), Landon Bygate, Justin Kim (Nancy), and Courtney Brisson; great-grandchildren, Braxton Lawson, Isabella & Priscilla Hernandez, Peyton & Robbie Kim.
A visitation will be held on January 14, 2026, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home in Lexington, South Carolina, with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to U-Turn for Christ or Jumpstart Vision.
Brenda’s life was one of quiet faith, unwavering love, and gentle service. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she so dearly loved.
