Brenda Snipes Smith

Mrs. Brenda Snipes Smith, 65, of Leesville passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2026. She was born on February 7, 1961 in Prosperity, South Carolina to the late James Lawson and Betty Joyce Boatwright Snipes. Brenda was a Batesburg-Leesville High School graduate, Class of 1979. She worked for Lexington Medical Center of over 20 years in the insurance billing department. Brenda enjoyed traveling, especially to the mountains and site seeing. She always took pictures, making sure she captured every special moment. Brenda loved going out to eat and shopping. Spending time with her family was her ultimate joy. Brenda was also a member of Old Lexington Baptist Church. She was a special soul and will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are her godchildren, Connor Burke and Gabriella Burke; brothers, James Snipes (Lisa) and Bud Snipes; sister, Trina Shaw (Robert); nieces and nephews that she considered as her children, Crystal Merida (Pablo), Paula Stevenson (Ryan), Timothy Price (Christa), Dustin Snipes, Cecil Damion Snipes, and Kimberly Mabus; best friend, Margie Poe; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, work-family, and friends. Brenda was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Perry “Bill” Smith; a brother, Steve Snipes; and sisters, Hattie Ellen Greenwald and Jana Azpiri.

Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Old Lexington Baptist Church. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is assisting the Smith family with arrangements.
