Lexington-Brenda Stancil Lyles, passed peacefully Tuesday, June 22, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born in 1946 to the proud parents of Clayton and Genell Stancil of Seneca, SC, Brenda was the eldest of three (brothers, Mike and Greg).
She graduated Seneca High School in 1963, and while working at the soda fountain that summer, she met MUSC pharmacy graduate Bill Lyles. After dating three months, the couple married and were devoted to one another for 58 years. Brenda loved to learn and once their children started school, she began college and in 1977 graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina’s College of Pharmacy (USC). Brenda was dedicated to her faith, family, and community. She served the Lexington community as a pharmacist for over 20 years. When she retired, she returned to her love of education and taught pharmacy at USC with her husband Bill for several years. Throughout their lives, Brenda and Bill were devoted to their three children and enjoyed nothing more than making sweet family memories while around the dinner table, playing cards, camping, or traveling the world. Brenda was an active member of Radius Church and was a member of Lexington Women’s Club, serving as president in 1990.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Bill; their three children, Wes (Lisa) Lyles, Wendy (Stuart) Pinholster, and Dodd Lyles; grandchildren, Logan, Tanner, Colin, Ehan and Issabella; and her brother, Mike Stancil.
The family would like to thank the care teams of Lexington Extended Care and MSA Home Health & Hospice who provided compassion, dignity, and excellent care in our time of need.
Please respect the privacy of the family at this time. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
