Boyce Howard Moody, 86, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025. He was born October 15, 1938, to the late Chester and Vonciel Moody of Dillon County.
Boyce grew up on a farm in Dillon County. He graduated from Lake View High School and Palmer College of Business in Columbia. Upon graduation, Boyce worked as an underwriter for Seibles Bruce Insurance Company. In 1973, he left the insurance industry and became co-owner of Tony’s Pizza on Knox Abbott Drive in Cayce. He welcomed his customers like old friends, always taking pride in serving his community with a warm smile and a generous heart until his retirement.
Of his many roles, his favorite was being “Papa Moody” to his beloved grandchildren.
Boyce was predeceased by his parents; wife, Aileen Moody; brother, Garrett Moody; and sister, Nell Moellers.
He is survived by his daughter, Leah (Brad) Jergenson; grandchildren, Matthew (Audrey) Jergenson, Paige (Jonathan) Bowles, and Kimberly Jergenson; three great grandsons; his brother, Bryan (Barbara) Moody; brother-in-law, Reginald Moellers; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at NHC Lexington for their care and compassion for Mr. Moody.
A graveside service will be held 11am Thursday, May 22 at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road in Lexington. Memorials can be made to Epworth Children’s Home. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
