A service celebrating the life of Bonny Ballington Clamp, 79, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Boiling Springs United Methodist Church, 2373 Calks Ferry Road, Lexington, SC. Visitation will be at 2:30 in the church prior to the service. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.
Bonny went to her eternal home in heaven on May 6, 2022. Born in Lexington, SC on December 27, 1942, she was the daughter of the late John Pershing Ballington, Sr., and Marguerite Paxton Ballington.
Surviving family members are her daughters, Tammy Clamp Whittle (Mark) and Andrea Clamp; son, Chris Clamp (Amy); granddaughters, Christa and Ashlyn Clamp; grandson, Raden Prewett; great grandsons, Bayde and Crosson Clamp; sister, Peggy Ballington Hughes; brothers, John P. Ballington, Jr., (Sandra), and Barry Ballington; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bonny was predeceased by her parents; husband, Bert McArthur Clamp; and son, Brett Alan Clamp. Bonny dearly loved her family.
In her teen years, Bonny competed in many beauty pageants and won many a crown. She was Miss Future Farmers of America Sweetheart, Miss Mid-Carolina Electric Co-Op, Miss SC Electric Co-Op, Miss SC Farm Bureau, and she was a Lexington County Peach Queen.
Bonny was a member of Boiling Springs United Methodist Church and was very active in her church and she held many positions over the years. She was a very devoted Christian and Loved and walked with her Lord Jesus Christ every day of her life. Her interests included feeding and watching her wild birds and working with her flowers. She loved her kitty cat named Precious.
She had many occupations through the years including working at Argus Camera, Allis Chalmers and South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control where she retired after 28 years of service.
Bonny’s family would like to thank all those who visited her in the hospital, sent cards, prepared food and called to express their sincere concerns. The many thoughts and prayers on her behalf are truly appreciated.
The family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Lexington Medical Center for their kindness and good care of Bonny during her recent hospitalization. A very heartfelt thank you to Dr. Richard S. McCain, McCain Orthopedic Center, for your prayers and for taking such good care of Bonny after her surgery.
