Mrs. Betty Frances Weed Hunter, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025. She was born on July 1, 1934 in Irmo, South Carolina to the late Clarence Wade and Lora Laurena Huffstetler Weed. She was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, and was a homemaker. In her free time, she loved sewing, and crafting. Most importantly, she loved her family.
Surviving are her sons, Randy Hunter, Barry Hunter, and Kenneth Hunter; daughters, Stephanie Lewis and Renee Cosby; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Betty is predeceased by her husband, Virgil Hunter; a son, Bennett Hunter; and brother, Henry Weed (Louise).
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church with the Rev. Walt Harper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. 1541 Lake Murray Blvd, Columbia SC 29212.
