Betty Jean Clark (nee Doolittle), of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on January 2, 1943. in Modoc, South Carolina, she lived a life rooted in faith, family, and simple joys.
Betty was the beloved daughter of George Washington and Ruby Lee Doolittle. She grew up in a large and loving family and was one of ten siblings. She is remembered fondly by her surviving sisters, Mary Harris(Robert) and Nancy Shead (Lewis), and her brother; William Doolittle(Peggy).
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Alice Scott, GeorgeAnn Doolittle, Hazel Robinson, and Martha Jones; and brothers, James Doolittle and Mack Doolittle.
A devoted wife, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Allen Clark. Together they built a life filled with love and shared values. Betty’s legacy continues through her son, Steven Anthony Head; her grandchildren, Stefanie Renee Head, Alicia Marie Head, Rebecca Lauren Head, and Steven Avery Head; and her great-grandchildren, Baylor Cooper Tardiff and Bastian Keelie Gantt.
Betty found joy in the little things. She had a keen eye for thrifting treasures and took great pride in her garden. Whether it was discovering a hidden gem at a thrift store or nurturing blooms in her yard, she embraced life with enthusiasm and care.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. A devout Christian, Betty was a dedicated member of Kitti-Wake Baptist Church for many years. Her commitment to her church community reflected the strength of her beliefs and the kindness she extended to others.
Betty’s warmth, resilience, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her.
