Betty Coleman Bradley Obituary

Betty Coleman Bradley passed away at the age of 85 after a short illness on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.  She was the daughter of the late William Tillman & Dorothy Evelyn Mae“Mimi” Coleman from Ash, NC.

She married David Patrick “Pat” Bradley June 5, 1962.  She and Pat enjoyed 58 years of marriage and enjoyed years after his retirement from the US Postal Service and military. Betty played basketball at Nakina High School in Nakina, NC, and her team won several state championships.

She is survived by her son, David Patrick Bradley, Jr., (Josie) from (Shelby Township, MI), two grandchildren, Patrick Ryan Bradley (Lauren) from Washington Township, MI, and Nicolina Marie “Nikki” Sebben (Taylor), (Lexington, SC).  She is also survived by three great grandchildren- Margaux and Celeste (Washington Township, MI), and Cole Taylor Sebben (Lexington, SC), and a godchild, Lindsay Griffith Jackson (Jason) of Charleston, SC.

Betty was predeceased by her brothers, Tillman Craven, (Nakina, NC), William (Myrtle Beach), and sister, Cretty (Ocala, Fl). 

She was a lifelong Methodist having served the congregations on council and women’s ministry. Betty retired from the RL Bryan Company as a telecommunications manager in 1998. During her employment with the RL Bryan Company, she won the Above and Beyond Award through Junior Achievement. Previous employers were Winn Dixie Stores and the University of South Carolina Gamecock Club.  Betty has been a member of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority for 46 years serving in all offices and receiving Woman of the Year several times.  Betty’s hobbies included quilting, reading and loving on her cat, AnnaBelle, and spending time with her family and sorority sisters.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Platt Springs United Methodist Church.
