Betty Anne Smith Webb

Betty Anne Smith Webb, 75, of Batesburg-Leesville, SC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025 surrounded by her family. Adopted as an infant, Betty Anne later found her birth family through determination and courage—long before the internet made such searches possible. She carried that same spirit of bravery and adventure throughout her life. 

Known for her laughter, kindness, and playful heart, she brought joy wherever she went. Her grandchildren were her greatest delight. She loved gardening, sketching, singing, bowling, and even dressing up as a clown in the South Carolina Poultry Festival, and always eager to make others smile.

She is survived by her daughters Leslie Anne Webb, Elizabeth Ruth Webb, and Alana Webb Barnes; her grandchildren Phares Baker, Gray Mattingly, Maryanne Mattingly, Brody Baker, and Caroline Barnes; her sister Barbie Smith; and honorary family members Kevin, Heather, Sydney (Daylin), Saylor, and Zachary Godwin. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Leslie Morgan Webb, and her parents, Ansel “Hank” Smith and Ethel Fallaw Smith.

Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and courage, and she will be deeply missed.

Graveside service will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Mims and Rev. Maria Miller officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 3, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel.
