Bette passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Born in Savannah, she was the daughter to the late Clifford and Annie Mae Moore Davis. She was a southern lady who traveled the world with her husband learning to speak fluent Italian. She was a gourmet cook who always made sure that everyone was well fed. She loved her bridge club in Savannah and her time spent working at the Juliette Gordon Low House. Battling health issues, she moved to South Carolina to be closer to family. Her quick wit and stories of her travels and adventures will be so missed.
Bette is survived by her daughters, Jeanette Lee Dara and LizAnn Antolick (Dan); grandchildren, Frank Palmer (Sarah), Samantha Palmer, Tim Antolick, and Emily Antolick; great-grandchildren, Jameson Palmer, Katie Grace Palmer and Maeve Palmer; and a beloved cousin, Becky Woodard.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Lieutenant Colonel Zigmund Dara.
A graveside service for Bette D. Dara, 87, will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2023 at Beaufort National Cemetery.
