Celebrating the Life of Bergen Michael Hall
December 16, 2002 – July 18, 2025
With full hearts and lasting memories, we celebrate the life of Bergen Michael Hall, age 22, who passed away on July 18, 2025. While his time here was far too short, Bergen made every second count—living boldly, loving deeply, and lifting everyone around him with a quick joke and a steady heart.
Born on December 16, 2002, Bergen was magnetic from the start. He was sharp, compassionate, and full of purpose. He poured that energy into serving others through his work in emergency medical services, rising quickly to become Deputy Director of Operations at First Priority Mobile Healthcare. He also served proudly as the South Carolina Advocacy Coordinator for the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT)—a powerful voice for EMS professionals and a dedicated champion of the field he loved so much.
Bergen wasn’t just respected—he was loved. Whether mentoring a new hire, leading a crew, or cracking a joke at just the right moment, Bergen had a way of making the toughest jobs feel lighter. His presence was steady, his heart enormous, and his wit unmatched. He always had the perfect comeback, a one-liner ready to brighten the moment, and a gift for making people feel like they truly mattered.
To so many, Bergen wasn’t just a friend—he was the best friend. The one who showed up, stayed late, remembered your favorite snack, and never let you feel alone. There was truly only one Bergen, and his impact will live on through every life he touched.
Bergen is survived by his loving father, Michael Hall; his devoted mother, Gina Hall; his wonderful sister, Madeline Hall; and his partner and soulmate, Chris Garrison. He also leaves behind his grandparents, Vera and Frank Young and Roddy Carraway; his uncle Joel and his wife Charlotte Hall; his aunt Whitney Holden and her husband Richie; and his cherished cousins: Cora, Wrenley, Tanner, Reily, and Ainsley. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Ann Carraway. Bergen also leaves behind an extended network of family, friends, coworkers, and colleagues who are better for having known him.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in the Lexington Room. All who knew and loved Bergen are encouraged to attend, share stories, and honor the incredible joy he brought to the world. A reception will follow the service. More details will be available the day of and included in the service program. Flowers may be sent to Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 609 Northwood Road Lexington, SC 29072.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the First Priority EMS Academy to further support Bergen's passion for the growth and development of EMS professionals. Donations made in Bergen’s honor may be made via Venmo to @FirstPriorityMobileHealthcare or via check to 1831 Airport Blvd. Cayce, SC 29033.
Bergen will be missed more than words can express. His laughter, his loyalty, his advocacy, and his larger-than-life presence will echo in our hearts forever. We were lucky to know him—and we’ll carry his light with us, always.
