Barney Weston Hoover

Barney Weston Hoover has gone to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on April 26, 2026. He was born December 26, 1931 in North, South Carolina to the late Jackson Blease Hoover and Jessie Bell Bolin Hoover.

He is survived by his brothers, Ted and Ron Hoover; his sister, Nancy Strong; his children, Steve Hoover  (Shirley), Patricia Hoover Stevens, Sandra Hoover Christopher (Mike), Kenny Steele (Jennifer), Kevin and Darren Steele; grandchildren, Zachary Hoover, Nicole Hoover Croft, Ashylnn Michelle Stevens, Rebekah Christopher Williams, Rachel, Aaron, and Samuel Christopher, Jordan, Dalton, and Kylie Steele; great grandchildren, Mckenzie, Knox, Luke Williams, Weston and Caroline Christopher, Presley Christopher and Crosby Croft.

He served in the Navy during the Korean War, owned a business, and worked hard all his life. He enjoyed horseback riding, camping, fishing, fish fries, and BBQ’s. He is known for his catfish stew and homemade BBQ sauce. Graveside prayers and military honors will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2026 at the Hoover Family Cemetery 147 Peachland Drive Gilbert, SC 290754.  A gathering for family and friends will follow the graveside at the home of Danny and Christy Hoover at 510 St. Paul’s Church Road to celebrate his 94 years of life adventure. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
