Mr. Gilliam was born in Banner Elk, North Carolina, on October 11, 1935. He was the son of the late Claude Lovell Gilliam and Sallie Wallace Gilliam of Banner Elk, NC.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Susan Woodard of Greenville, SC and Danny and Becky Woodard of Lexington, SC; three sisters,
Clara House, Louise Harkey and Claudia Gilliam all of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Courtney Woodard, Cameron Woodard, Aubrey Woodard and Cassidy Woodard; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Calvary Church, Hwy 184, Banner Elk, NC 28604.
