It is with the joy and hope of everlasting life that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved sister and aunt, Arlette Faye Schrader, lovingly known as Tilly or Aunt Til, on April 26, 2026, at the age of 85.
Born on January 3, 1941, in Newport News, Virginia, Tilly lived a full and active life, enriched by deep family bonds and lifelong friendships. She was predeceased by her beloved husbands, Robert “Bob” Price and Gerwin “Bill” Schrader; her parents, Harley Melvin Tillman and Louise Virginia Morris Phillips; and her sister, Linda Carole Peterson (the late Frank).
She is survived by her siblings, Harley Morris Tillman (Sandy), Nancy Louise Clark, and Wayne Melvin Tillman (the late Eileen), along with a large and devoted extended family.
Tilly shared a special and lasting bond with her nieces, who lovingly embraced her as a “bonus mom”: the late Rae Ann Tillman, Cathy Lynn Addis, Tammy Michelle Flowers, the late Melissa Louise Painter, Tonya Rayne Kaltenbach, Amy Maria Tillman, Holly Rayne Tillman, and Jennifer Eileen Tillman. She played an active and meaningful role in their upbringing, as well as in the lives of her great-nieces and nephews.
Tilly and her siblings raised their families close together in Brooklyn Park, Maryland, remaining near Hanover Street in downtown Baltimore where they grew up. Her home—along with her beloved dog, DeeDee—was always a place of warmth, laughter, and connection.
Tilly enjoyed an accomplished career in banking in downtown Baltimore, where she specialized in human resources, payroll, and benefits. She was respected for her professionalism, strong work ethic, and her uniquely warm and endearing personality that left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Following her retirement, Tilly embraced life with the same energy and joy that defined her career. She and her husband shared a love of golf and cherished the many friendships and memories made on the course. They also enjoyed hosting family and friends, creating a home filled with hospitality and cherished memories.
Though we mourn her passing, we take comfort in the assurance of her peace and rest in God’s presence. As expressed in Psalm 23, “The Lord is my shepherd… I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 28, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 609 Northwood Road, Lexington, South Carolina.
Friends and family are encouraged to share memories and upload photos to her memorial page. Your kind words and shared experiences will serve as a lasting tribute to her beautiful life.
