Anita Gayle Easterly

March of DimesAnita Gayle Easterly, 71, passed away peacefully at LMC Extended Care July 23rd, 2025 surrounded by her beloved children. Anita was born on July 16th, 1954, in Statesville, North Carolina. She was the eldest daughter of the late, William S. Wood and the late, Jone Fox Chambers.

Anita was a devoted Christian who taught Sunday school, assisted with children’s ministries, and nursing home ministries. Not only was she devoted to her Lord and savior, but she was a devoted Daughter, Wife, Mother, Aunt and Grandmother. She worked at Westinghouse Electric many years before her retirement.

She is survived by her younger sister, Debbie Fine (Scott); her daughter, Brande Elliott Jones (Christopher); son, Herbert Cody Elliott (Ashley); along with her five grandchildren and two great children, Courtney Butler (J.C.), Taylor Jones, Hunter Jones, Emma Elliott, Cole Elliott, Georgia Renea Jones, and John Caiden Butler aka Jack; her three nieces and two nephews, Stephenie Morgan (Damon), Misty Butts (Hugo), Ruby Runco (Joe), Danny Ridenhour (Julia), Stephen Ridenhour; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and devoted, loving husband Robert Easterly in November 2015, as well as her siblings Jeannie Wood, Cheryl Wood, and William Wood Jr.

The family will receive family and friends at First Baptist Church of Lexington at 10 am, Wednesday July 30th, 2025. The service will follow the visitation at 11am at First Baptist Church of Lexington. The burial will take place at 2 pm, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Perceval Road, Columbia, SC, 29229.

All services are under the direction of Barr Price Funeral Home. The family extends their deepest appreciation to the staff at LMC Extended Care.
