Angelo Mario Scioscia
December 7, 1931 – October 28, 2025
Angelo Mario Scioscia, 93, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025. Born in Melfi, Italy, Angelo immigrated to the United States at the age of seven, arriving at Ellis Island with his mother in pursuit of a better life.
He began his career in construction and spent decades working for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, where he played a key role in building and developing new communities across the country. His work left a lasting mark on countless neighborhoods and families.
Angelo will be remembered for his strong work ethic, devotion to family, and deep pride in his Italian heritage.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel Scioscia; his children, Michael Scioscia (Johanna), Lisa Drolet (Pete); his cherished grandchildren, Joshua Gross (Leila), Taylor Kallian (Craig), Giovanni Scioscia, and Angelica Scioscia; and his adored great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Gross and Axton Angelo Kallian. He is also lovingly survived by Dollie Herron, whom he proudly referred to as his adopted daughter.
A service celebrating Angelo’s life will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home, 609 Northwood Road, Lexington, South Carolina 29072.
Angelo’s legacy of love, dedication, and family will continue to live on through all who knew him.
