Amelia “Amy” Jane Greene Stalnaker passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. She is predeceased by her husband, David Stalnaker, Sr. and her son David “Buddy” Stalnaker, Jr. She is survived by her children Kimberly Bordeaux, Jack “Bo” Stalnaker, Melissa Martoi, Jennifer “Sandy” Stalnaker, and Susan Stalnaker.
Aside from being a loving and devoted wife and mother of six children, Amelia had many other accomplishments in her lifetime. She began her career as an RN, proceeded into a position as an EMT, then worked into retirement as a library assistant at the Pelion Branch Library. Amy was a steady presence in the community at the library for almost 20 years.
Amy had many facets. She was not only a caring, faithful woman, Amy was quick-witted, cheeky, and the first to the punchline. She and Dave shared a lifelong marriage full of love and laughter. Many children and grandchildren had the privilege of calling her Mama and Nana.
As a lover of all things pirate, Amy and Dave took trips every year to the Pirate Festival in Tybee Island, where they dressed the part. Another favorite of hers was Star Wars—something she was able to share with her children, spending many an afternoon watching the movies or quoting the script.
Amy also thoroughly enjoyed her flowers and gardening. In her prime, you could often find her in her garden planting, or watering the flowers (or children).
A private service will be held at the family cemetery on September 28, 2025. As a final dedication, Amy’s children ask that everyone send as many bright and colorful flowers as possible to fill her final resting place with as much beauty and sweetness that she provided her friends and family. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
