Mrs. Perkins received her Lord and Savior at the age of four and after serving Him for 76 years, she went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 18, 2023. She was born in Dowagiac, Michigan February 20, 1943. She and her late husband lived in Illinois serving in two pastorates before moving to South Carolina in 1971. During these years, they started a 3 year old kindergarten at Augusta Street Church, worked with Child Evangelism Fellowship and children’s ministry of Grace Baptist Church where they were members. She taught at Grace Christian School for 32 years, and after retirement in 2011, she was a substitute for the school and daycare. She also was teaching Bible lessons using flannelgraph twice a month at Palmetto Senior Care on Knox Abbott Dr. It was her desire to let the Lord Jesus shine in her life to let others see the peace and contentment that only Jesus can give through receiving his death, burial, and resurrection for a personal salvation and eternal life.
Surviving is her son, David A. Perkins, Jr. (Celeste); grandchildren, Chloe Morton (Aldric), Sophia Whitaker (Andrew), and Phoebe Perkins; and great-grandchildren, Skylar and Myles Morton.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, David A. Perkins, Sr.; her parents, Claude Stanage and Myrtle Shealy; and sister, Sharon Inman.
Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
