Alfred Martin, Jr.

Alfred Martin, Jr., 77, of Lexington, SC, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.  He was born June 6, 1943 in Lancaster, SC to the late Alfred and Maynelle Branham Martin, Sr.

Alfred is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Carol Griffin Martin; his sons, Stephen Anthony (Shanon) Martin Sr., Kevin Andrew Martin, Alfred “Bucky” (Susan) Martin III, Jarrett McGray Martin, all of Lexington, SC, and Jeffrey Guy Mack, of Swansea, SC; daughter, Tammy Mack (Gordon) Turner, of Swansea, SC; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Alfreda Brewer of Blythwood, SC, Carol Owens of Columbia, SC, Rebecca Craft of Pelion, SC, Connie Bennett of Gaston, SC, Sandra Hartness of Lexington, SC; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents; his brother, William Nathan Martin, Sr., and his nephew, William Nathan Martin, Jr. 

Alfred will always be remembered by all that knew him as the man that would gladly give anyone the shirt off his back.  He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends.  He was fond of classic cars, loved watching NASCAR, he was a huge fan of Carolina Football, and was a sheet mechanic at Allied Chemical for years.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 2:00pm in Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.  Family will be greeting friends from 1-2pm in the funeral home. In lieu of donations, the family asks that memorials be made in Alfred’s name to the American Cancer Society in honor of his granddaughter, Kensington Martin, who has battled cancer.  Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel has assisted the family.
