Mr. Keisler was a son of the late Herbert and Corrine Matter Keisler and passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019.

Surviving are his brother, Mike Keisler (Deek); sister, Marcia Smith (Buddy); step-mother, Louise Bundrick Keisler; brother-in-law, Charles W. Shealy; nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, and sister, Carolyn Shealy.

He was a graduate of Clemson University, the National Beta Club and a member of First Baptist Church of Columbia.

Bill was eager to learn! Mother taught him to read before beginning school at Gilbert and he could always be found with his “nose in a book”. The amazing thing was that he could remember what he read and would often refer us to a page number for a reference in conversation! He graduated Gilbert High School and furthered his education at Clemson with an Mechanical Engineering Degree. He was a very proud “tiger”!  He followed graduation with a nuclear engineering career, reclaimed heart pine and lumber business and forestry passions.  However in 1991, his heart changed from knowing about God, to having a personal relationship with him that would direct his path through the good times in life and the trials that grow our faith and dependence on our God.  The book that was the most important, the Bible, was now his guide and pattern to submit to and follow.
These are just some of the verses that he spoke often to us about and were pivotal in God’s molding him and his life decisions.  We are thankful for our brother and the impact of his testimony for Christ.

Psalm 23  ( 2-92, 11-93, 3-98)

“The Lord is my Shepherd…He restores my soul.”

Colossians 4:17    (Apr 98)

Shiloh Rededication Communion

(Grandmother Matter’s letter . Shiloh pictures . Rev. Wolf’s prayer)

“5 I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother…in your mother… and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also. 6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”
