William Dillard Jackson, 76, passed away October 1, 2017. He served 22 years in the US Army and retired as a Southeastern Area Recruiting Commander. He earned his Masters Degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University and was well known for owning and operating several trucking and heavy equipment companies in Columbia and surrounding areas. He was a Mason and had a life long passion for restoring cars.
He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Rowena Jackson. He leaves behind his daughter, Reba Tyler of Lexington; 2 grandchildren, Heather and Matthew Tyler; 2 great grandchildren, Cameron and Trinity; sisters, Reba Folsom (John) and Wanda Smith (Randy), brother; Robert Jackson (Marie).
Services will be held 10:00 am Friday, October 6, 2017 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel with burial at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 12:00 Noon. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
