Theresa Sims Libby

Theresa Sims Libby (55), of Lexington, SC, passed away on September 11, 2018 in Lexington.  Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Saturday, September 22 at First Baptist Church of Lexington (415 Barr Road, Lexington, SC 29072), with Revered Ralph Schneck officiating.  Family will receive guests one hour prior to services at the same location.

Theresa was born in Columbia, SC to Kenneth and Marcella Elliott on August 13, 1963.  Theresa was a mother of four and grandmother of 8, that worked as an administrator for the South Carolina Military Department.  She was actively involved at First Baptist Church of Lexington, where she taught third graders, was active in the West Columbia Chamber of Commerce, and could frequently be found volunteering her time for organizations in the area.      

Theresa is survived by her spouse Mitchell Sims, children Michael Sims (Chrissy Sims, spouse), Scott Sims (Amanda Sims, spouse), Chris Sims (Brittany Sims, spouse), Ashley Reed (Ty Reed, spouse), sisters Rita Price, Carla Ketten, Kelly Cook, mother Marcella Elliott, and eight beautiful grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Children’s Ministry of First Baptist Church of Lexington to help less fortunate children attend summer camp.                              

The family of Theresa wishes to extend our sincere thanks to First Baptist Church of Lexington for their invaluable support, the tender and caring staff at Agape Hospice House in Lexington, and the many friends and family that have demonstrated their love to her and her family during her recent illness.
