Stephen Kamoroff, 60, died unexpectedly on March 31, while visiting his mother. Stephen was born on March 26, 1958, in Savannah, Ga., and died in West Columbia, SC. He grew up in West Columbia and like many boys there, played Dixie Youth baseball and was an active cub scout. He graduated from Brookland Cayce High School and received BA and MBA degrees from the University of South Carolina School of Business. Stephen had a 30+ year career as an insurance claims adjuster retiring as a Specialty Claims Manager from ACE (Chubb) Insurance. He was the son of Mary N. Kamoroff and the late David P. Kamoroff. Besides his mother, he is also survived by his beloved brother Allan M. Kamoroff (Betsy), “chosen” sister Bonnie J. Ramsey, adored children Stephanie K. Vaught (Marcus), Adam R. Kamoroff (Meagan Williamson), and Anna M. Kamoroff; grandsons Marshall Vaught and Asher Kamoroff , former wife Julie Kamoroff as well as uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and other chosen family. Stephen’s greatest joy and passion came from making others happy, especially his children, and entertaining all the children with his silly antics. He loved planning and preparing meals for the families’ annual trips to Paradise Island and the family gatherings at “The Beaufort House”. He was a sweet, loving man with an infectious smile and laugh, who was so dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Per Stephen’s wishes, there will be no formal service and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Beaufort. The family will be honored to receive friends at the home of Mary Kamoroff in West Columbia, SC on Wednesday, April 4, from 6 to 8 pm.
