It is indeed sad that you are mourning the loss of your dear Robert. Please accept my condolences and know that our loving God is keenly aware of your distressing pain. His comforting word assures us that in due time, he will eliminate all suffering on earth, including death. Notice how the Bible stresses that fact in the faith strengthening video below:

My deepest condolences to the Gunter family:
Life indeed does take its turns. And when someone has been around for 76 years and falls asleep in death they have made beautiful memories to cherish. They will be missed. And, my heart goes out to you. May you look forward to the Most High God of Comfort fulfilling His promises (Psalms 83:18 & 2Corinthians 1:3, 4).
Notice what He promises: Revelations 21:4 ( No more pain, tears, sorrow or death) and He even says where they are (Daniel 12:2), and the beautiful resurrection hope (John 5:28, 29) and where they will be ( Psalms 37:11) and how long (Psalms 37:29). I hope that these few Scriptures were of some comfort to you as they were to us when our precious daughter fell asleep in death and recently my beloved husband of 50 years fell asleep in death. I truly understand the deep pain of losing a loved one.

Please hold onto those precious promises yes, seeing our loved ones again in perfect health (Isaiah 33:24).
My deep deep heartfelt sympathy,
Sissy

I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure this must be a difficult time for you and your family. At 1Corithians 15:26, our Heavenly Father express how he feels about death, calling death an enemy that will be destroyed. So until that promise is fullfilled, please find comfort in God's word the Bible as we look forward to the day when we see our loved ones again in the promised resurrection. (John 5:28,29, Revelation 21:3,4 and Acts 24:15)
