Oulia Rebecca Gunter Rivers Collins

Lexington – Oulia “Becky” Collins, 90, was called home on April 3, 2019. She joins her parents, Ina Mae Hendrix and John Hugh Gunter, 7 brothers, her husbands Eugene Rivers and Chester Collins, and her son, Gene in her heavenly home.

She was born in Lexington on March 6, 1929, where she lived her whole life and graduated from Lexington High School. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Becky retired from Southern Bell after 20 years.

She is survived by her daughter; Phyllis Rivers, son; Bill Rivers (Dare), grandchildren; Robby Harmon (Belinda), Ricky Harmon, Chip Harmon (Ashley), Sally H. Lowery (Bobby), Jeff Rivers (Angie), Jared Rivers, Leah Rivers, and Tamara Herringshaw (Eric), great-grandchildren; Mercedes, Jayden, Kaitlyn, Logan, Hunter, Kristen, Aubrey, Cassidy, Addison, Jaycee Kate, Alexis, Cheyene, Dylan, Nolan and Jamie, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of LMC’s ER and ICU units and her many caregivers.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Responders of Lexington County.
