Mina Elizabeth Moore

Mina Elizabeth Adams Moore of Lexington, SC passed away April 13, 2018 at the age of 96. She was born on September 3, 1921 in Saluda County to the late Thomas James Adams and Mamie Goff Adams.  She was the eighth child of nine children and was the last surviving sibling, one of which was her twin.

Mina attended Fellowship Baptist Church in Lexington and was the oldest living member. She enjoyed her church family and the Love Sunday School Class. She was a stay-at-home mom to five children and was always ready to babysit her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, not to mention the occasional granddog. A great cup of coffee and good conversation was a favorite pastime, even more so if a piece of pie or cake was included on a nice front porch.   Mina also spent many hours composing poems about her family and friends in many journals. She shared her love of gardening and birdwatching with her children.

Mina is survived by four of her five children: Jimmy L. Moore, Linda M. Griffith (David), Patricia M. Davis and Robin M. Hammond (Hal); nine grandchildren: Molly M. Piner (Michael), Allen Griffith (Amy), Lindsay G. Jackson (Jason), Bobby Moore (Brooke), Paul Robert Davis, Winston Hammond (Haylen), Hannah H. Brazell (Aaron), and Sarah Hammond (Crystal Lloyd); and seven great-grandchildren: Parker, Ryleigh, Sydney, Jacob, Griff, and David and other extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Robert (Bob) W. Moore; son Gary D. Moore; daughter-in-law, Bonnie R. Moore and granddaughter, Sarah Grace Piner.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Fellowship Baptist Church, 4238 Augusta Road, Lexington SC 29073 with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church Building Fund or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 107 Westpark Blvd. Ste. 150, Columbia, SC 29210 or Agape Hospice  House, 121 Library Hill Lane, Lexington, SC 29072.
