George Michael Sellers (Wow, he hated being called George; we will herein refer to him as Mike), 63, of Lexington, SC (Let’s be real, it was Bishopville) shoved off for his final fishing expedition on 6/10/2019 at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital. Mike is joining his beloved mother Carolyn Mathis Sellers and fellow fisherman, George “Buster” Sellers, George Harrison, John Lennon, and Tom Petty. There will be a celebration of life at a future date. The Lizard Man of Bishopville is not invited regardless.
Mike was born in Bishopville, SC, surviving is his wife, Connie Drake of Lexington, SC, his kid-dog, Loki and his expert handler Chapin, his daughter, Lindsay Sellers of Atlanta, GA, his two sons, Justin Sellers and his wife Hilary of North Augusta, SC, and Matthew Coats of Lexington, SC, his son-in-love Doug Nicholls of Simpsonville, SC, his brother, David Thomas Sellers of Bishopville, SC, and his uncle James Mathis and his wife Johnnie of Irmo, SC. Mike has 5 grandchildren, Emily, Malary, Kylie, Brantley, and Gavin. Additional family includes, “Outlaws”, Coni and Kyle Young of Aiken, SC, Mr. Rick Wentz, Mr. Danny Jones, Mr. Greg Sandal and Mr. Chris Fonvielle, Mr. Boiled Peanut, Mrs. Chicken Wing, Ribs, Fried Catfish, and Crab legs.
Mike retired from Graybar Electric in Columbia, SC. He enjoyed fishing, picking on his wife, and reminding everyone how he is “Retired” and the rest of us still have “Responsibilities.”
Mike will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend that loved Diet Mountain Dew and Pecan wheels just as much as he loved throwing the wrappers in the floorboard for his wife to find later. He will be missed dearly every day.
Barr-Price Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
