"Lil" was a true Columbia Girl, Catching Frank while at Ft. Jackson during his WWII Training and convincing him this was our home through the years. She began her Accounting Career learning Comptometer at night, to get a job with Colonial Stores. Lil was Office Mgr. for Columbia Cardiology, now Columbia Heart Palmetto Health, for many years prior to her retirement. She served as an officer of the SC Medical Office Managers Assoc. and for many years was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Women's Philanthropic Sorority, having held many local, state, and national positions. She and Frank owned Richland Bowl for many years as well as several other family entertainment and Philanthropic Businesses in Columbia. When her Grandchildren began to come along she forever became: "MaMaw" to all. MaMaw leaves a legacy of 3 Children, 10 Grands, and 15 Great Grands.
While she suffered Alzheimer's, and though it greatly hindered her speaking ability, she never lost the bright blue eyes and smile for her family when they came to visit. She loved us and was loved by all.
In lieu of flowers the family would prefer your gift of remembrance be made to Leeza Gibbons Care Connection, Irmo, SC or the SC Alzheimer's Assoc. Our family greatly appreciates Carolina Gardens of Lexington, and Comfort Care Hospice for their treatment and care in her last days.
