Joel K. Sharpe, Jr.

Mr. Joel K,. Sharpe, Jr., 67, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Born February 3, 1950, he was the son of the late Joel K. Sharpe, Sr. and adoptive mother, Mary Jane Mixon Sharpe.

Mr. Sharpe never met a stranger. He was outspoken, loving, and caring, who put his family first. Mr. Sharpe's grandchildren were his life. He enjoyed fishing and going to the mountains.  Aside from his family, Joel loved the Lord and his church.

Survivors include his loving wife, Linda; sons Rockey Bradford (Kelly) Sharpe, Joel Todd Sharpe, Christopher Scott Sharpe; grandchildren Ryan, Justin, Allen, Robert, Greg, Keili, Bailey, Rachel, Ashton, Hunter, and Savanna; half brothers Marty and Wendell Sharpe; step brother Billy Crummie; and half sister Janie Lou Walker. In addition to his parents, Joel is preceded in death by his sister Linda Rushton.

Funeral services for Mr. Sharpe will be held 2 pm, Friday, January 12, 2018, at the Rock Family Worship Center, 5041 Platt Springs Rd., Lexington, with burial to follow at Lexington Memorial Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 until 8 pm, Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel.
