Jerry Wayne Harwell

Jerry Harwell, 72,  passed away on June 6, 2017. He was predeceased by his mother, Ruth Taylor Kilpatrick, his father, Melton L. Harwell Sr., and a brother, Melton Lewis “Pot” Harwell, Jr. He is survived by a daughter, Lisa Harwell Spires of Columbia, and a son Jeremy W. Harwell of Columbia, a sister Sherry Harwell Driggers of Columbia, 2 grandchildren, a great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.  After a number of years of employment with Fluor Daniel, Mr. Harwell was self employed as a plumber until his death. Mr. Harwell was dearly loved by his family and friends. He had a giving heart and helped everyone that came to him with a problem or question. He touched the lives of all around him with his kindness and compassion. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium. The family would like to thank everyone who provided support, encouragement and prayers during Mr. Harwell’s illness. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Harwell’s family will contact all family members and friends with this information.  The family is also asking that in lieu of flowers, a contribution be made to your favorite charity in his name.
