Gladys Faye Gunter

Gladys “Faye” Gunter of Swansea passed away on the morning of June 20th. Ms. Gunter was
the youngest daughter of Lever and Gladys Moorer, and predeceased by the love of her life,
Henry “Jack” Gunter. Ms. Gunter was retired from the SCDMH, where she served as an
advocate for her patients. Ms. Gunter was loved by so many and embraced everyone she met.
Left behind to grieve are her beloved babies, Rusty (Debbie), Jackie, Keith ( Ray), and Kim
(Johnny). She made it clear that it didn't matter how old we were, we would always be her
babies. When things were bad all of us knew we could crawl up in Mama’s king-sized bed, and
she would love on us and make us feel better.
She will also be missed by her grandbabies, Russel (Stephanie), Whitney (Bruce), Staci
(Steven), Alexis (Brandon), Haylee and Glenn. Her Great grand babies, Braylynn, Briceson,
Chance (Alexis), Clint Taylor, Jacob (Russel), Wyatt, and Connor (Staci). Honey, aka, Mamaw
loved them all so much, and they brought her so much Joy.
Faye left behind a nephew that was more like her son, Jack Moorer, Jr. And also a brother,
Ronald Moorer (Jackie) of Gaston, a sister Margaret Poda (James) of Ruston, LA and
countless nieces, nephews and dear friends. Faye was predeceased by her brothers, Jack,
Bobby and ML Moorer and her sister Betty Martin.
Barr-Price of Lexington will be handling the arrangements. Services are scheduled for 2pm,
Sunday, June 24, 2018 @ Barr Price Funeral Home. Family will receive guests from 1-2pm
prior to the service.
