A graduate of Latta High School, class of 51, her dream was to be a fashion designer, but that was not to be. However, she never stopped loving beautiful clothes and critiquing the ones she didn't like. She worked at several plants in Dillon, including Dixiana Mill and then opened her own Florist. She also volunteered with Lake View Rescue Squad.
Frances had many passions, her favorite was Christmas. She loved decorating, cooking and preparing for it. Many years she had to be convinced to wait until November to start. Both of her daughters have priceless memories of Christmas while growing up. Music and dancing were also favorites. She enjoyed all kinds of music, from bluegrass, country, to Creedence Clearwater Revival. She taught herself to jitterbug, shag and all the modern dances. Her dances were a joy to watch because she always had a big smile on her face. Gardening was her greatest hobby. Whether flower or vegetable gardening, no weed had a chance of survival.
She loved Jesus Christ and was baptized at an early age at Latta Baptist Church.
