Faye Younginer Mann, 87, of West Columbia died Monday, August 5, 2019 at Lexington Medical Center following a brief illness.
Faye was born December 11, 1931 in Irmo, S.C. to Edward Monroe Younginer, Sr. and Vera Mae Derrick Younginer. A graduate of Irmo High School in 1950 she began a long career as co-owner of Mann Electric Service and at retirement was employed by Chalmers and Kubeck South as office manager.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents; also brother Edward Monroe Younginer, Jr.; sisters Dorothy Younginer Jacobs and Mary Earline Younginer; former husband Eugene McCain Mann; son-in-law W. Steve Sharpe.
She is survived by her children, Ronald Eugene Mann (Shelvy) of Chapin, Leonard Harvey Mann (Teresa) of Chester, Brenda Mann Sharpe of Lexington, Pamela Mann Holmes (Brian) of Lexington, 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Faye was an avid Gamecock fan and enjoyed following various sports. She also enjoyed many activities at home that included needlecraft and yard work. She dearly loved her family and friends and in return was loved by many and a stranger to none. She was always concerned for their well being and thrived on sharing her love and laughter with everyone. Her wonderful spirit will always be cherished!
Though faced with many difficulties during her life, she always persevered by saying, “Lord keep me safe till the storm passes over.” And our God was faithful!
The family would like to extend gratitude to the staff of Carolina Gardens Senior Living Facility and Lexington Medical Center for their constant care and compassion for our Mother.
We especially send our appreciation to Dr. William D. Brearley of Lexington Cardiology whom Mom loved dearly. Thank you for all the love you have shown to our Mother. She is definitely your biggest fan!
